How long ’til Christmas?
The children ask.
How long ’til the day draws near?
Carols now sung,
Preparations begun,
How long ’til the day is here?

 

How long ’til Christmas?
The children asked.
How long ’til the Day draws ‘nigh?
Prophecy spoken
Of bondage to be broken…
How long ’til Messiah’s time?

 

How long ’til Christmas?
How many tomorrows?
The little one innocently pries.
Gifts all now open,
A few sadly broken…
Yet again longing for the season of joys.

 

How long ’til Christmas?
His children, too, wonder.
How long ’til the Promised One returns?
The Gift harshly broken
And raised up again
Has gone on to prepare a home…
How long ’til this beloved One once again comes?
How long?
