In a crooked and depraved generation,

The light is dim;

Earthly minded people walk in darkness,

Walk in sin.

Spreading gloom and hatred,

Their hearts are full of fear;

They need the hope that Jesus gives,

They need Him to draw near.

A child of God can help them

As he shares the word of life;

Gives them hope and comfort

Through their sorrows and their strife.

A ray of light, a shining star,

A friend to point the way;

A tool the Potter uses

As He molds and shapes His clay.

Not all will understand or care,

But some will see the light

As they hear the truth through people

Who will stand and take the fight…

For that which is blameless,

That which is pure;

The man who stands for Jesus

Spreads a light that is true.

 and depraved generation, in which you shine like starsin the

universe as you hold out the word of life.
