Chaos Crept In

Chaos crept into our house;

Unaware,

We grumbled and argued

And stared grumpy stares.

Yes, chaos crept into our house for the day,

And each person’s behavior

Was quite a display.

The little ones whined;

Oh, they fussed and they fought!

Mom’s nerves were all frazzled…

Her composure was gone.

Yes, chaos came in, and brought friends along;

Irritability and anger came too,

And their presence was strong.

Sin and distraction, the game that they played,

They kept us all busy,

And our attention was swayed

From what the Lord wanted to do in our day.

Patient as ever, He waited until

We realized we needed to stop and be still.

Stopping to pray, we told them to go…

Chaos and her friends shuffled

Back out the door.
