A Thousand Cares Consume My Mind

A thousand cares consume my mind
As I walk into this place;
Concerns of life invade my thoughts
As music begins and voices are raised.
Persistent, they linger,
Though I push them away;
Turning my eyes toward You,
I stop to pray.
Attention on You,
My mind concentrates;
As You fill my thoughts,
Other things fade away…
It’s then I can worship,
Wholeheartedly singing Your praise.
