The Turning of a Back

The turning of a back
When your all is all you’ve given;
Rejecting of a heart
That’s lived to carry burdens.
Brothers born for adversity
And friends of fellowship sweet…
Unexpectedly turning,
Bridges sadly burning
Walking carelessly away…what defeat.

 

The turning of the Father
As Jesus’ all was given;
Momentary rejection
Lived to complete compassion.
Relationship testing adversity,
Breaking of fellowship sweet…
Briefly He turned,
Chains of sin spurned
That sin would see ultimate defeat.
