Samaritan

Casualty so casually
Left at the side of the road;
One crosses away.
One doesn’t see,
Or at least portrays it so.
Samaritan heart
Knows the hurt,
The rejection of all the land;
On foreign soil
Considers no toil
Too much to prevent
His healing hand…
From touching,
From helping,
From drawing one up
From wounded state
Or wounded heart.
Samaritan spirit
Draws dangerously near it…
The place where he bares his own heart.
His heart of compassion,
His heart of hope;
Heart of love ever grateful
For the risk of Another
Who, in action, drew near…
He exalts the heart of the King,
He reflects the heart of his King.
Samaritan courage
In action made clear,
Remembering the King
Who assuages his fear
And gives confidence to give
His all to a stranger.
