The Refining of My Faith

The refining of my faith
In the things I cannot take,
For inadequacy drives me to Your feet;
Bowed in humble need,
Your presence, I must seek;
To Your direction I must yield;
In Your wisdom, I must trust,
Knowing You will be my shield.

The refining of my faith
As I walk through holy flame,
Never brought beyond the point I cannot bear…
Though the difficulties try,
My troubles never leave Your eye;
You temper, test, and try
That You might stretch
My faith.

As silver, more I shine
Through Your holy work divine;
My character can only be more clear;
Dependent upon You
And the finishing that You will do,
I live to become a reflection of Your love…
As each imperfection leaves,
By the dross that You remove,
Your face shines more brightly through.
May my life reflect more, still more of You.
