Should I Weave
Should I weave a wonderful story,
It would lack sufficient glory
To be worthy of Your note.
Dragons and princesses, Castles and such…
It would only be a hoax.
Had I the ability to entertain young minds
With tales of valor and might,
I could never convey anything
Comparable to Your word of life.
So many heroes and villains,
Regal and plain
Yet all the same
Living in mortality
Expecting the promised work
Of their great and glorious high King.
Instruction in conduct…
Reflection on truth…
Consequence of action…
The story is full
Of amazing things
Love ever present,
Often ignored;
Love for children,
A loving Lord.
Patient and gentle,
Yet fierce and strong;
It’s all there to be found,
And it makes me long
For the One who told the story!
