Odds – A Tribute to My Mom Upon Her Retirement
Just roll the dice…
We want to see
All the possibilities
Roll them once
Or twice
Or more
To see the fun
That lies in store
Retirement looming?
Not a chance…
There’s no such thing
In the Creator’s plan
Every day is filled with works
Laid from the foundations of the earth
Some, for a season, to earn our keep
And some for a time to sit at His feet
A season for fun and a season to rest
A season to know that your life is blessed
A blessing you’ve been
And continue to be
Retirement’s just a formality
So roll the dice
And hit the ground running
We hear that sewing machine,
And it’s zipping…
Travel the world, or just this land
Take in His creation, and paint the town red…
Fishing and hiking and so much more
Plenty of grandkids to love and adore
For every purpose, a season comes
Our wish that this season be that of love!
One of thanks for the time for your kids that you’ve given
Those at home, those at school,
And of course, the one that won’t grow up…he ain’t leavin’!
Roll the dice
And just see
What the Lord has to come,
But no matter the number,
It’s odds on MOM!
