My Actions Without Merit

My actions without merit,
My righteousness as rags;
My banner raised on my behalf
Would merely show a tattered flag.

 

It’s your righteousness I need, Lord,
Your love I must display;
Your banner raised
As you engulf
And fill my heart with praise.

 

You alone are righteous;
You merit my whole heart.
You are my life,
And You are my strength,
And it’s You who fills my cup!

 

Overflowing love,
My merit, my worth
Is found in Your heart for me;
Nothing earned,
But a perfect gift…
Salvation You’ve purchased
And given to me!
