As Daytime Closes

As daytime closes and night begins,
I realize as Mom, my job never ends.
A break here or there, but I’m nightly on call;
My duties continue when the sun starts to fall.
When I grow weary and weak, Lord, I seek Your strength,
Thankful You’re there, that You don’t take a break.
Lord, You don’t close up shop and Your job never ends;
An ever present Helper, Your Spirit still leads.
In the chill of the night, as a little one wails,
You sit close as I rock her…Your love never fails.
As the world lies in darkness, should they come in need,
I minister as I lean on You for strength.
You meet me as I meet them,
And I’m thankful You’re there, that Your work never ends.
